Jeremy Corbyn becomes Room to Heal’s first Patron
News 27 July 2012
We are excited to say that Jeremy Corbyn, MP for Islington North, has agreed to become Room to Heal’s first Patron. Jeremy has long been a tireless and inspiring human rights campaigner, speaking up for the marginalised and oppressed both locally in his constituency, nationally, and globally. He spoke passionately at Room to Heal’s summer party about the plight of people who are forced to flee their home countries through persecution and torture, the contributions refugees have made to British society throughout history, and the importance of community and the work we do to build that at Room to Heal.
He said:
“Room to Heal has built a wonderful healing community for people from all over the world who have experienced torture and other human rights abuses. I’ve seen first hand the effects of the brilliant work they do and wholeheartedly support their efforts.”
Thank you Jeremy, we look forward to working with you in support of our members.
